The Breit Lab
The Breit Lab investigates the potential consequences of exposure to commonly used drugs during early development using a translational, preclinical model. We are particularly interested in investigating the effects of prenatal exposure to alcohol, cannabis, and nicotine via electronic cigarettes.
Research
In order to investigate these critical consequences, the Breit Lab examines several biological and psychological measures in brain and behavioral development. Overall, the goal of the Breit lab is to provide a greater understanding of the potential effects of prenatal drug exposure through community engagement (e.g., Skype A Scientist, Student Health Fairs, Twitter, local clinics & community courses) by providing drug education without stigmatization.
